Today I had the brain storm that I'll try dying my own yarn. I stopped the yarn shop on my way home from school to get some natural yarn. I read this wonderful article on KnitPicks about dying with Kool-aid. After I got the yarn I went to the second hand store to get a pot to dye the yarn in. I don't want to use my good cooking pots for that. Then I stopped at the store to get grape Kool-aid. I hope I got enough for 2 skeins of yarn. I want to dye it and then knit it and then felt it into a bag. I think this would be a cool project for me (like I need another knitting project going!).
I have started the border for the lace shawl. I did one full go around of it, and we'll see how it looks after I have a few more. I've also been working on spinning the blue yarn for my mom's Christmas scarf.
I also thought that I'd take a few knitted scarfs to school in the next few weeks to see if I could sell them. I guess I have to work on knitting them up this weekend!
