Apples, Apples, Apples!
A lovely fridged day to be outside. My husband and I went out to breakfast this morning and then we went out to pick our annual apple supply. Normal we go on a week day, but this year we thought we'd go on a Saturday. It was so BUSY!!! We couldn't walk out to the trees this year, we had to ride on the tractor. We picked Northern Spy and bought Fujis since the trees were all picked clean. Here's the Northern Spy trees:
I also got a very cute small pumpkin that I set out on my front step. Aren't they cute all lined up?
Since we now have all these wonderful apples I thought I should make something yummy with them. Every year I make apple crisp, so I wanted to try something new. Today, I made my first apple pie! Here's my apple slicer/ corer:
Here are the sliced apples in the pie plate:
I cheated a little bit and bought the ready made crust:
Here it is after baking... I'm waiting for it to cool so I can cut a slice!! YUMMY!!
