Tonight is the last night of my hubby's vacation. This vacation was great. We were able to make some progress on the bathroom project. However, we did make a short visit to the hospital for my husband's finger that had a small problem with a metal fan duct. It only needed a few stitches and this big sock like bandage.
Tonight is the first time that he can take off the sock and clean the stitches. We thought that it would be nice to go out to dinner and then stop at the store to get gauze so when I help him wrap it back up it's nice and protected. Dinner was great. We went out for Mexican food. Yummy, spicy goodness! In this restaurant there is a fountain. It only has water in the bottom of it, but it use to have water on all three of the tiers. Many people (mostly, children and daydreamers like me) throw coins into it to make wishes. As we were munching on our chips and salsa I saw this guy in a button down shirt pulling the pennies out of the top tier. I asked my hubby what he was doing. I assumed that it was the manager and that he was unclogging it so that they fountain could be run to it's full fountainess. How wrong I was! Hubby tells me that this guy has a small girl with him. HE WAS PULLING THE COINS OUT SO SHE COULD THROW THEM BACK IN!!!!!!!!!! What the hell?!?!? You can't do that! That's like telling people what you wished for when you blow out the birthday candles! I HOPE KARMA BITES HIM IN THE A**!! I was shocked. In a restaurant full of people, this guy is taking the pennies out so that he could amuse a small child. Crazy! I think he should have coughed up a few of his own pennies so that she could make real wishes on them. It didn't look like this guy had want of food, or lack of clothing. He was not a beggar on the street, he was dressed in nice pressed pants and a button down shirt (hence, why I thought he was the manager!). If we were in the city and it was a cold snowy night and this guy had no other options I could see it, but a restaurant so that his kid could have a good time. I think that's ethically wrong! Unbelievable is all I can say!
