Motivated!

Spinning at the shelter was a great time!! There was six of us who were spinning, and we were paid handsomely!!!! By handsomely, I mean we were paid if FIBER! One of the master spinners helped me pick out which fleece was good quality and one I could spin. She then took a small sample of each fleece to show me what the differences were and how to clean them.
After we put my fleece in the car, we needed to clean the samples that we got. To many women's horror, we washed them in the ladies room sink. She was chatting away about how clean it was looking and now it was all white....other ladies were chatting about how crazy we were! HA HA, they have no idea about how cool this experience was for me. This lady is an amazing spinner. She is taking courses to become a master spinner, so to have her show me all this was so great! She showed me a new way to spin so that the ending yarn is very light and fluffy! It was so great!!!!!
My fleece came in a HUGE black trash bag and NEEDS to be cleaned... my car was a little bit stinky on the drive home. I'm so motivated to work on my fleece study stuff that I got, but haven't touched. Right now, while I writing I have a tub of Romney wool soaking. I thought I should start somewhere, so I picked one that I have spun before. I hope it will come out as white as our quick wash of the samples at the animal shelter. We did have a hard time drying them there, but it was good enough for a quick study in fiber. I'll take photos of my project when I have the Romney card all completed.
