Pictures!

I know I promised pictures and I haven't been very good about taking them these days! I only have 20 more days of school and then I will have time to do everything that I want to get done! So anyway, I did take a few picts this morning.

Here is my back yard garden. It now is across our whole back fence. This is the one that my husband really helped me a lot with. I even got a climbing rose in there. However these picts were taken inside because it is raining out this morning. I'll get better picts when it clears up:

Today I'm not sure what we will do since it is yucky outside right now... maybe we could work on the bathroom project! HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Garden Fun

Yesterday I went over to my teacher friend's house to get some plants from her. Wow, does she have a GARDEN! I was so impressed with everything that she had. She gave me all kinds of cool stuff...now I have to plant it!
We still have one lilac bush that needs to be planted. Today my husband is at work and asked me if I would take out the grass so we can plan it tomorrow...hummm, of course I will! I means I have more space for the plants that I got yesterday! HA HA!
I love being outside. It's a happy thing. Yesterday I was out all day and stupid me put sunscreen everywhere but my legs.... now I have bright red calfs from wearing cropped pants and sitting in the sun knitting. Not one of my finer moments. I made up a tea compress to help take the burn out and my husband yelled at me that it smelled bad. Too bad for him!
So, I'm outside today (in long pants) and more sunscreen digging up my yard again! What a great day it will be!

Friday and Loving It!

I can not tell you how much I love this Samus pattern (so far anyway!)!!! I am so addicted to making this cabled border. It's so cool how each cable is intertwined and it looks so much harder than it really is!!! My plan for it is to get the border done this weekend, or in the coming week. Then I can start the body...
.. oh yeah, I have a sock I'm supposed to be working on too....hummm....where did I put that now?
Today I have off and Monday I have off for Memorial Day weekend. It's a time for us to reflect on those who served our country in the armed services. It also looks like a great weekend weather wise so I can go out and play in the dirt with my plants!

I Just Can't Stop

Finally I have picts! Here is the Cloud Bolero. This is the one that I'm wearing over my dress to the wedding in Japan:I also finished the vest! It looks great and I wore it to school today:

This sweater pattern can be found here. I have loved this pattern since it was first published! I think it looks amazing and the cabled boarder is going a lot easier that I thought it would!

I'm still working on my socks too! I'm only an inch away from starting to decrease for the toes. I think I can get them done (the socks, not the sweater too) by the time we go to Japan. ^_^

Weekend Fun

I am so happy it is the weekend! Today I went to a great workshop that was real and something that I can actually use. That is always a great feeling to know that the whole day was spent learning something that will be applicable to my classroom!
I stopped after school at the garden center to see about getting some help with rose care. I got some annuals, and two irises. I love irises. I got a red one and a purple white mixed one.
Tomorrow we are going out with a a teacher I know from school and her man. It will be nice to go out. I'm excited about it. My friend and I have hung out before, but now we are adding our men. It should be a good time. I talked her into going out for Indian food.
Tonight has been so relaxing! I read a book and have been watching some cheesy movie that is really mind-numbing. Just want I wanted for the evening! ^_^

Flowers and Pies

The flowers are coming into bloom! My cherry tree is in bloom and beautiful! My lilacs are open and smell great! We went to a festival this last weekend and got two new lilac trees for our yarn. I am so excited about this because they are so different from the ones that I have. I need to get picts of them up!
I got a rose bush for my garden over the weekend too. I have NO idea about roses! I had this idea that they are so easy... then I went to the library to get out some books on the care of roses. HA HA! They need a LOT of love!! I was a little surprised by this (my husband thinks that my ignorance on this is so funny). It looks like it is doing well and so far the blooms that were on it are fully open and look healthy. I want to get some of the things that the books says will help keep it healthy. Who know that they could be so picky!
On Friday I found two whole pies in our fridge! One was lemon meragne and one was pecan. My husband got them from a co-worker and they are so good!!! I am in love with pecan pie and I have a whole pie to myself!! YUM! Happiness is a pecan pie! ^_^

Yarn Tasting

Tonight the yarn shop that I have been hanging out in to get help with my bolero was having a yarn tasting. This was the first time I have ever been to one. It was great fun!! I got some sock yarns, patterns and two pairs of needles for the socks! They had wine and gift bags for all who came.
I even finished my bolero in time to wear it to this event! YEAH!!!!!!!! I'm so excited that it's done and it came out super cute! I'm so happy with it! :)
